The Solar System

Album cover from the Solar System's 2008 release
Ugly Face/Ugly Town

Historically, Michigan has a long standing reputation as a musical melting pot of the highest order.  With an extensive roster of diverse music mavens and moguls, tunies wont have to trek far in search of their next neoteric tune.  Adopting an intrinsic approach to auricular melody making, Michigan born The Solar System, carves out a nebular niche of interstellar proportions.

Psychonauts in quest of an apogee in wanderlust, will enter the galactic gallows of the abyss within.  Cosmic and aberrant in sound, The Solar System's odyssey into orbit begins with their latest album launch, "Lysergic Summer."
Canticles such as: "Fast Cycle," "Lunispheres", "Runner Moth," and "Watch the Fall," may catapult auditors into a synesthetic trance, revealing the veracious colors that embodies this entity.

The Solar System "Lysergic Summer" Album

The Solar System is actually a one man band, comprised of musician Chris Oliver.

Meet Chris Oliver

At the tender age of 4, Oliver expressed a strong interest in music learning to play drums.  By his mid-teens, Oliver added: guitar, keyboards, and bass to his repertoire; along with the purchase of his first Tascam.  Creating Psychedelic Rock, is a huge part of this man's molecular makeup.

The Smoking Trees

The Smoking Tree's upcoming album release, Acetates

Direct from one of the original breeding grounds of Psychedelia,... Los Angeles, California; Arrives none other than The Smoking Trees!  This dynamic duo has cleverly combined: Hip Hop, Garage, Folk, 60's Psyche Pop, with intense but pleasurable amounts of reverb, echo and mellifluous harmonies, resulting in a sound so distinctive and unique, that comparisons to other bands are nearly impossible to draw.

With lucid lyrics and vapory vocals, songs like: "In A Popsike World""Merry Go Maggie", "In Another Land", "Sunshine Everywhere", and their latest installment, "See", transports listeners on a trip without the need of luggage or dosage.  Euphoric, heady and atmospheric throughout, their spellbinding sound is sure to entrance and delight Psyche lovers.

The Smoking Trees are comprised of Sir Psych and L.A. AL

Meet Sir Psych

Regarded by some as the King of the underground Psyche scene, Sir Psych has been a powerful force behind the bands magnetic sound.  A producer and multi-instrumentalist, Sir Psych lays down the traps, keys, effects, as well as the vocals for all of T.S.T. albums.

Sprouts and buds in abundance, spring from the branches of The Smoking Trees.  In addition to releasing numerous albums, music downloads and running his own private label... Colour Tree Records, Sir Psych created numerous 60's Psyche Pop compilations for those who just can't get enough.

Wearing many faces and donning many hats, Sir Psych has rightfully earned his title as Psychedelic royalty.

Here's a link to Sir Psych's recent interview,
conducted by: The Active Listener

Meet L.A. AL

L.A. AL's the quiet counterpart of The Smoking Trees but in the studio, his charismatic chops equipped with his ability to hit the coveted male high note, can send any harmony hound soaring into shimmering stratosphere.

L.A. AL is also a multi-instrumentalist playing guitar, bass and loads of percussion.

L.A. AL with his pal Sir Psych, create the perfect color combo on their Colour Tree label.

The Out Key Hole

The Out Key Hole's Debut Album, Dreams in Waking State

From the island of Sicily, sails the sizzling Psychedelic rockers, The Out Key Hole. Using Vox instruments, the band crafted a unique out of this universe sound that drones into an entirely different dimension.  Fans of 60's undergound Garage Psychedelia, will hear the sound replicated almost perfectly, offering listeners insight into what it must've been like to be in attendance of a mind manifesting mixer.

Offering something for everyone, The Out Key Hole hits major chords with listeners with songs like: "The Silver Ring", "Rusty Knives""In the Crowd" and my personal favorite, the very groove driven, "I Pretend to Run".

The Out Key Hole-"In The Crowd"

"Rusty Knives" is included on the U.K. compilation, No Way Out!

Live at The Lomax in Catania, Italy

Here's a link to their first interview, conducted by:

Klemen Breznikar-It's Psychedelic Baby Magazine!

Having generated a buzz amongst Psyche and Garage Rock enthusiasts, The O.K.H. have managed to snag the attention of Psychedelic Big Wigs such as, James Lowe-The Electric Prunes and Tjinder Singh-Cornershop.

O.K.H. Member, Ciccio Zagami with Tjinder Singh at Club Hell, London.

These fellas are the real deal.  Heavy to the max, The Out Key Hole are one of the best new Psyche bands to emerge from Italy.
